20th Century Fox’s marketing campaign for Deadpool knows no bounds, it seems, now that The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the Merc with a Mouth himself has been cordially invited to next month’s Super Bowl 2016.

Pegged for Sunday, February 7, the monumental sporting event is already playing host to the first-look trailer for Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon’s Bourne 5, though THR notes that Fox will have a major presence, too.

Not only is the studio expected to debut a new TV clip during the Super Bowl, but sources close to the outlet claim that a number of publicity stunts are in the works for Tim Miller’s R-rated standalone feature, and going off Deadpool‘s excellent marketing campaign thus far, we can only imagine what insiders have cooking up for February 7.

Then again, Ryan Reynolds’ gun-toting mercenary isn’t the only film the studio plans to promote. With Independence Day: Resurgence and Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse also looming on the horizon, we can readily expect to see new footage from each respective blockbuster. Moreover, with the likes of Jeff Goldblum and Liam Hemsworth set to attend, there could be a number of on-ground events waiting on the wings as well.

Those aforementioned spots won’t come cheap, however; THR notes that a 30-second spot is going for anywhere between $4.6-5 million this year. An exorbitant amount, no doubt, though it appears Fox has planted the flag for two 30-second spots during the game, while Universal has bought a 60-second spot (presumably for Bourne 5). Paramount, on the other hand, has also nabbed a 30-second spot.

Sporting fans will have their eyes locked on the clash between Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers for Super Bowl 2016. But moviegoers all around the world will have their peepers peeled for new looks at Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, Bourne 5, Independence Day: Resurgence and much more come February 7, and we’ll have all the coverage for you right here.
