Westeros beckons, folks, and by the sounds of it Game of Thrones season 6 will retain the show’s relentless twists and turns, with series star Emilia Clarke even going so far as to say that the upcoming batch of episodes make for an “epic and insane” story.

Word comes by way of The Hollywood Reporter, who spoke to the award-winning actress during last weekend’s SAG Awards. It was here that Clarke – primed to reprise her role as the would-be Queen Daenerys Targaryen – fuelled excitement by hinting at season 6’s expansive scale and scope.

And though they hail from different houses, co-stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner offered up a handful of fleeting details regarding the respective journeys that await their characters in Game of Thrones season 6.

First up, the former spoke to Vulture about Arya’s nightmarish existence in the Hall of Faces. Left without her sight at the tail-end of season 5, Williams confirmed that Arya will remain blind – for now, at least. But portraying such pain on screen came at price: Uncomfortable contact lenses.

“They’re very painful,” Williams noted. “They’re like huge and they’re very thick. Pretending to be blind is much easier when you actually can’t see anything.”

Switching gears from one Stark to another, last we saw of Sophie Turner’s Sansa she had leaped from the towers of Winterfell alongside Reek (AKA Theon Greyjoy) to escape the clutches of one Ramsay Bolton. There’s plenty to look forward to when it comes to Sansa’s arc, according to Turner, who told EW that “it’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”

Game of Thrones season 6 roars to life via HBO on April 24. Send a raven!
