Arriving via The Late Late Show With James Corden, today’s first trailer for 20th Century Fox’s riotous feature introduces the two titular brothers, who cast the net in search of a plus-one for their sister’s upcoming Hawaiian wedding. The trouble is that Devine and Efron’s characters (Mike and Dave, respectively) are hopeless romantics, forcing them to think on their feet if they really are to bring along a date to the marriage ceremony.

But this is 2016, and rather that scouring the Internet for dating apps, Efron and Devine’s hapless duo decide to make a viral plea by way of the Wendy Williams Show, piquing the interest of two hard-partying singletons, Alice and Tatiana (Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza). What started as a goodwill gesture from their father to help curb their bad habits soon seeds a recipe for disaster, all with the grandeur and excess of wedding to blow things out of proportion.

Zac Efron and Adam Devine will be on the hunt for a significant other when Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates opens in theaters on July 8. Director Jake Szymanski is behind the lens, while Stephanie Beard, Sam Richardson, Branscombe Richmond round out the remainder of the cast.

Mike-And-Dave

Hard-partying brothers Mike (Devine) and Dave (Efron) place an online ad to find the perfect dates (Kendrick, Plaza) for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by the uncontrollable duo.
