It’s no secret that Marvel is planning a pretty major death for Captain America: Civil War. Ever since the film was announced there have been numerous rumors about who would be meeting their maker. Of course, nothing official has been revealed just yet, but Geek.com claims to know just who’s set to bite the bullet when the threequel hits theatres this May.

Obviously, this is a major spoiler and if you want to go into the film knowing as little about it as possible, then turn back now. If, however, you’re curious as to who won’t make it out alive, then read on!

Apparently, directors Joe and Anthony Russo shot two endings for Captain America: Civil War. The first had the titular hero “disappearing into the night alongside his fellow Avengers.” Sounds innocent enough, right? Well, the second ending is the one that currently has people talking, as it features Crossbones killing Cap. Geek.com says that the latter ending is the one that the filmmakers have gone with, and thus, Captain America will die at the end of Civil War.

Those who are familiar with the comic books have been speculating for months now that Cap would be murdered at the end of the movie, and it appears as if they’re right. This means that someone else is going to have to pick up the mantle for Avengers: Infinity War, and apparently that someone will be Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes.

That’s not all, though, as it gets even more interesting from there. Sources close to Marvel say that the studio will have the first part of Infinity War focus heavily on Spidey and Bucky. For part two, however, they’re going to somehow resurrect Rogers during the finale. No word on how they plan to do this, but expect the Infinity Stones to play a part in the resurrection.

So, there you have it. If Geek.com are correct, and at this point, we’re ready to believe them, then Crossbones will take out Cap at the end of Captain America: Civil War, with Bucky set to take over for his friend in Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1.
