Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews has weighed in on the possibility of getting the gang back together again for The Expendables 4.

Speaking with Collider at the VES Awards, Crews – who plays the gun-toting Caesar in the action franchise – revealed that he’s game to reprise the role, but only if Sylvester Stallone returns to the fray.

Indeed, before addressing the question specifically, the actor reflected on Stallone’s recent run of success off the back of Ryan Coogler’s Creed, nabbing a Golden Globe and emerging as an early frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in the process.

As Crews points out, with that added boon in success comes more creative options about where to go next – exemplified by the decision to green light Creed 2 – which raises questions as to whether The Expendables 4 can carve out a window of time for production let alone securing Stallone as actor and producer.

Per Collider:

“He’s got a lot more choices now. My thing is, really, whether he wants to do it or not. Because if he wants to do it, I’m in, like, there’s no stopping me. It’s really up to Sly, because this is his baby, his creation, and if he wants to do another one, I’m in.”

Bringing together the action stars of yesteryear is no mean feat, as it leaves producers tiptoeing around all kinds of scheduling conflicts. Nevertheless, for now, fans can count on Terry Crews to jump back on board should the opportunity ever present itself.

The Expendables 4 may never leap off the drawing board, but you can see Terry Crews as ‘Tiny Terry’ in the ongoing Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 3.
