A hip-hop song focused more on lyrical content than Baauer’s unique sound design, “Temples” opens with samples from what sounds like a guided meditation recording. Verses by M.I.A. instill her trademark aggression into the tone of the song before G-Dragon takes over – although his own contributions are almost entirely in Korean, making them difficult for western audiences to assess.

K-pop has intersected with dance music more and more lately, most recently with Skrillex’s contributions to 4Minute’s “ì‹«ì–´ (Hate).” At this rate, perhaps South Korea will prove more of a contender in the worldwide electronic music industry.
