Enigami’s debut action RPG title – Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom – has received its first gameplay trailer today ahead of the game’s release later this year. On the strength of this trailer, however, it seems somewhat of a disservice to simply call this an action RPG.

The gameplay showcased in the trailer demonstrates that Shiness will offer a challenge that’s both frantic yet beautiful as it blends classic fighter game combat with a picturesque RPG world to explore. Add to this the knowledge that Shiness will feature multiple playable characters with unique abilities and levelling options, and it becomes clear there’s going to be a lot happening in this game.

The combat itself will be inspired by the 1v1 battles of fight titles like Street Fighter, with players regularly encountering enemies as they’re out in the world. When you’re not calling on slick combos and elemental powers to defeat these enemies, you can stumble across various puzzles and secrets in the vast open world of Mahera.

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is scheduled loosely for a 2016 release, but as yet no platform news has been confirmed for its launch. We’ll bring your more on this as it comes to us.
