Runtime Revealed For Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Thanks to AMC Theatres, we now have the official runtime for Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Coming in at nine minutes longer than Man of Steel, the film will run for two hours and thirty-one minutes, which is pretty standard for tentpoles these days.

With so much set-up and groundwork being laid in Batman V Superman, the studio didn’t really have a choice when it came to length. Anything under 2 and a half hours would have felt rushed and the story and characters wouldn’t have had enough time to breathe.

In fact, I’m actually a bit surprised that they didn’t go closer to three. Although, that definitely would have been pushing it, as The Dark Knight Rises was 164 minutes and it did feel a bit drawn out at points. Still, with so much world building going on in BvS, I’m sure that Snyder could have made every minute count.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th. Tell us, are you happy about the 2.5 hour runtime? Let us know below.
