We have your first look at the next brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled “Safe House.” Unfortunately, no official synopsis for the episode in question is available at this time, but we can peer into the future thanks to the trailer provided, as well as major developments that occurred in recent episodes such as “The Vessel” and “Beyond The Mat.”

  • The Darkness is (still) coming: Aside from a creature posing as her, we have not seen or heard much from Amara/The Darkness lately. The new footage given implies that we will see her shortly, although it is always important to remember that when a promo video hits for an episode that is a month away, the footage may be culled from several yet to be aired episodes. Regardless of whether or not she does appear in “Safe House,” things are about to get a whole lot worse for the Winchesters and Planet Earth before they get better.
  • A “Hand of God” can be used only one time: Recently, we have been introduced to the concept of relics referred to as a “Hand of God.” In “The Vessel,” we saw a Woman of Letters put the Arc of the Covenant to good use and, more recently in “Beyond The Mat,” Crowley used the Rod of Aaron offensively. While these objects offer those who possess them godlike power, they are essentially the most lethal of firearms that contain only one shot. If Lucifer or anyone else intends to take down Amara, they will need to make their shot count.
  • Crowley is currently at large: Although Lucifer let Crowley off his leash in last night’s episode with the intention to double cross him, that didn’t stop the recently usurped King of Hell from narrowly escaping alive. Despite having no loyalists left, Crowley is sure to use all of his cunning and resourcefulness to get back at Lucifer before this season wraps.

Supernatural returns with new episodes on Wednesday, March 23 at 9:00 pm EST on The CW.
