Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Expected To Open At $100-$140 Million

Not that it should surprise anyone, but Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is tracking pretty well right now. Ticket pre-sales start next week and tonight, Deadline is reporting that projections have the film making anywhere between $100-$140 million on opening weekend. It's still a bit too early to tell how accurate that estimate really is, but that's currently what analysts have it pegged at.

Of course, with both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Deadpool setting the box office on fire, people are eager to see what Warner Bros.’ juggernaut will do in terms of numbers. There’s no doubt that it’s going to cause quite the storm, but will it top Lionsgate’s $152.5 million opening haul for The Hunger Games (the current record holder for biggest March opening)? It’s certainly possible, and we’d even say it’s probable.

The marketing campaign for the film has been extensive, and despite reports that the studio wasn’t feeling overly-confident in the final product, you have to believe that audiences are going to flock in droves to see it. After all, this is a superhero showdown of epic proportions, one that has never before been seen on the big screen. It’s also quite possibly the event movie of the year and to miss out on catching it in theatres would just be foolish.

We’re certainly eager to see how it does compared to some of the other recently released blockbusters that have been tearing up the box office, but again, at this stage, we imagine that Warner Bros. is going to have no issue recouping a healthy profit here.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th – just one month to go, folks!
