The Weinstein Company has released a new trailer for the upcoming comedy Our Idiot Brother, which stars Paul Rudd as Ned, the idiot brother who was released from jail and decides to live with his sisters. The film looks like the perfect opportunity for Paul Rudd to rebound from the last batch of horrible films, including Dinner for Schmucks and How Do You Know.

The trailer is full of just the right amount of inappropriate jokes and random silly moments that displays Rudd’s ability as an actor. He manages to completely lose himself and truly become an idiot. I must say, that only very few men can sport an awesome beard like that!

Another sigh of relief is the fact that this film is rated R, which means the jokes will be followed through all the way and will hopefully not be cutting any corners. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Paul Rudd‘s last R rated film, I Love You, Man, happened to be his last good film. Maybe he needs to stick to R rated comedies? I’m fine with that!

Our Idiot Brother is directed by Jesse Peretz and it stars Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer. It will be released in theaters on August 26th, 2011.

Check out the trailer below.

Ned Rochlin (Rudd) looks for the good in every situation and in everyone, which often puts him at odds with the world around him – especially his family. Upon being released from jail for a stupid mistake, Ned is kicked off of the organic farm he lives and works on by his ex-girlfriend Janet (Hahn) who also insists on keeping his beloved dog, Willie Nelson. Having nowhere else to go, he turns to his family, three ambitious sisters (Banks, Deschanel, Mortimer) and an overbearing mother (Knight). Ned crashes at each of their homes, in succession, and brings honesty, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives. In other words, he wreaks havoc.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
