Jamie Foxx Is Wanted For Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Django Unchained is undoubtedly one of the hottest projects in Hollywood right now. The film already has a few actors in place (Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz), but it's still looking for the two leads. Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be locked in at this point and now, First Showing is reporting that Jamie Foxx is being courted for the other lead role, that of Django. Names like Will Smith and Idris Elba are also popping up pretty frequently in relation to the role but it looks like Foxx may be the frontrunner.

Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming spaghetti western has a lot of people talking and the controversy has already begun. Foxx’s name popped up a few weeks back and now that it has surfaced again, I think it’s safe to say that the actor has a good chance of ending up in the movie. Will Smith supposedly passed on this weeks ago and with Idris Elba now being considered for Pacific Rim, he likely won’t be able to do Django Unchained, leaving Foxx in the spotlight.

Despite not doing anything noteworthy since Ray (although, The Kingdom and Law Abiding Citizen were both quite entertaining), Jamie Foxx is a very good actor and Tarantino is a director who knows how to get the best out of his cast. Plus, Foxx going up against DiCaprio sounds like something I’d like to see. If this all comes together, it’s going to make for one electrifying film and could be QT’s best since Pulp Fiction.
