Tracy Magnuson, Marketing Director for Octopus Tree, confirmed the team’s desire to aide fledgling developers:

The Octopus Tree is the perfect symbol for how we approach games. We want to help independent games to become mighty and strong, and also to be unique and unlike anything else. We are here to help independent developers craft their games into ones that stand apart from the rest like our namesake, the Octopus Tree.

Octopus Tree’s first three games are as follows:

  • Goliath: Craft giant robotic suits called Goliaths from wood, stone, metal and more to even the odds against the enormous creatures you in a mysterious world filled with giant beasts! Each Goliath can be customized and outfitted with weapons to create options that are perfect for every situation. But your Goliaths won’t solve every problem. You’ll also need to craft items and tools, build shelters and fortresses, and choose which factions to side with in the war that’s sweeping across the land.
  • Buildanauts: Build a town from the ground up in this open-world city construction simulator. In Buildanauts, you’re the foreman, the city planner, and the mayor of the town of your dreams. Plan your town and bring it to life with the help of your construction crew. Use a fleet of heavy vehicles and a variety of construction tools to place city props, lay down roads, and much, much more. Build a town that your townsfolk, the Buildanites, will be proud to call home!
  • Robot Arena III: Sparks will fly. Steel will bend. Parts will break. Metal will be crushed. Welcome to Robot Arena, where robotics designers face off to see whose creation will rule the ring. Head into the Bot Lab and build your dream combat robot from scratch, or customize a pre-built robotic warrior. Confront your metallic opponents in deadly arenas filled with environmental hazards and devious traps. Only one will emerge as the mightiest ‘bot builder of them all!
