Still reeling from the latest X-Men: Apocalypse trailer? We wouldn’t blame you.

Yes, Oscar Isaac’s all-powerful En Sabah Nur is primed to rain down biblical destruction in a few months’ time, but 20th Century Fox has rolled out a string of screenshots from today’s sizzle reel, allowing you to go up close and personal with Apocalypse, the film’s young squadron of mutants, and Michael Fassbender’s conflicted Magneto.

Imbued with an ancient power along with his fellow Four Horsemen –  Ben Hardy (Archangel), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), and Olivia Munn’s ass-kicking Psylocke – and the awakening of Isaac’s Apocalypse, Magneto is soon squaring off against James McAvoy’s old frenemy, Professor X.

Of the ensemble cast set to leap onto screen in a few months’ time, Shipp, Isaac and Mumm topline the list of newcomers, joining Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Lana Condor. The X-Men stalwarts, meanwhile, include James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Evan Peters as Quicksilver, who’s promising an even more impressive sequence than the one featured in Days of Future Past.

Prepare for war: Bryan Singer will pit Oscar Isaac and his Four Horsemen against all of mutantkind when X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters on May 27.

“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”
