According To Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator 6 Is Still Happening

As you may or may not know, Terminator Genisys was supposed to launch a new trilogy for the sci-fi series. However, it was received pretty poorly by fans and critics alike and thus, plans for future instalments stalled. We had assumed that Paramount wouldn't be pushing forward with a Terminator 6, at least not for a long time, but franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger insists that that's not the case.

He’ll be back!

As you may or may not know, Terminator Genisys was supposed to launch a new trilogy for the sci-fi series. However, it was received pretty poorly by fans and critics alike and thus, plans for future instalments stalled. We had assumed that Paramount wouldn’t be pushing forward with a Terminator 6, but franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger insists that that’s not the case.

In a recent interview on Australia’s Channel 9, he mentioned that he’s looking forward to starring in another Terminator film. Of course, that’s hardly a confirmation of one happening, but if there really were no plans to do a sixth instalment, he probably wouldn’t have said that.

Still, with Genisys not even hitting $100 million at the North American box office, we can’t imagine Paramount would be rushing to produce another sequel. Sure, it may have done well overseas, but that likely isn’t enough to make a sixth film a priority for the studio right now.

They may end up doing one at some point, and we wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to it given how much potential the franchise has, but let’s just hope that if they do decide to make another Terminator film, they take the time to get it right.
