All across its wonderfully dark and moody marketing campaign for Game of Thrones season 6, HBO has cordially invited us all back to Westeros for another exercise in fantasy mayhem.
Scattered throughout the Seven Kingdoms, we’ve seen how many of the great houses have been left in tatters in light of recent events, be it the deeply wounded Lannisters or the once-great House Tyrell.
[zerg]But death hath no preference on the blood-stained lands of Westeros and Essos, and today’s new promo for season 6 portends danger for one and all – regardless of political standing or family heritage.
Pulling much of the same footage that featured in HBO’s full-length sizzle reel from earlier this month, the 30-second snippet is more of a highlight reel spotlighting each of the core characters and the horrid situations they find themselves in. There’s also an action shot of Drogon sailing over a battle an epic battle sequence – potentially the biggest in the show’s decorated history – and Tyron musing about the events to come with Conleth Hill’s magnetic eunuch, Varys.
One way or another, a face will be added to Braavos’ collection when Game of Thrones season 6 roars onto the small screen via HBO on April 24. Will you be tuning in?
