There aren’t a great many outfits who can put together a festival the way Insomniac Events does – even if they release a cringeworthy trailer from time to time. The promotional company has now begun to rev up its hype engine for EDC New York, and today they’re offering up a new trailer for the festival’s 2016 edition.
In the video, a girl visits an eye doctor and is unable to see anything but the letters E, D, C, N and Y when asked to look at lines of a Snellen chart. A montage of crowd and stage shots from last year’s edition set to “Opus” by Eric Prydz follow, and it’s almost enough to make you forget about the laughable acting before the story resumes afterwards.
For what it’s worth, though, I definitely won’t forget about the trailer anytime soon – so in that respect, it accomplished its purpose.
EDC New York 2016 will take place on May 14th and 15th at Citi Field, and the full lineup for the festival can be seen below.
