One thing is for sure and that is that the marketing behind the upcoming Muppets film is unlike anything we have ever seen before. First, they released their take on a romantic comedy and then they give us a spoof of The Hangover Part II. Now they have decided to debut yet another silly trailer, this time it’s a spoof of  Green Lantern.
Admittedly, this one doesn’t work nearly as well as the past few but I still got to hand it to them for being so damn weird with their marketing. I’m really curious to see how the general audience will react to these trailers and this film. I’m assuming most people will think it’s stupid and quickly dismiss it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this film slowly starts to gain cult status.
I’m still not sold on the film as it looks a little too silly for me, but I’m sure I’ll give it a go when it comes this Thanksgiving.
The Muppets is directed by James Bobin and stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper. It will be released on November 23rd, 2011.
