Taron Egerton may not be reprising his role of British sleuth Gary “Eggsy” Unwin until June of next year, but already the actor has started rolling out enticing teasers for action-adventure sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Taking to Twitter, Egerton peeled back the curtain on the film’s first poster, teasing the return of a very familiar face. Mild spoilers to follow if you’ve yet to see Matthew Vaughn’s rip-roaring sleeper hit.

Still with us? Good.

Unless 20th Century Fox has just dropped a major red herring, the minimalist one-sheet hints at the return of Colin Firth’s Harry Hart. “Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated,” reads the poster, meaning chances of a Hart return are certainly high – if they weren’t already, that is.

Written and directed once again by Matthew Vaughn, The Golden Circle finds Egerton and Mark Strong’s returning agents heading to America’s Statesman HQ, now that the British base of operations lies in ruins. Among the newcomers are Halle Berry’s Ginger and Julianne Moore’s Poppy, with the latter pegged to terrorize the Kingsmen as an appropriately over-the-top nemesis.

Settling on an antagonist to emulate the original film fast became a priority for Matthew Vaughn, who was originally apprehensive about returning to direct.

“I didn’t know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot. You try not to read what people want, but they do want another church sequence. I have no reason for another massacre to happen. But I have other sequences you’ve never seen before.”

20th Century Fox has set Kingsman: The Golden Circle for release on June 16, 2017. For now, you can whet your appetite with the sequel’s official first poster, below.
