Gotham may have given us a week to catch our breath, but it will return next Monday with a new episode titled “Wrath of the Villains: Into the Woods.” Today, Fox has given us a glimpse into the future with three full clips, which we have right here for your viewing pleasure.

In the first clip, which can be viewed at the top, Penguin has a bit of an odd moment with his stepmother and her children at his father’s funeral. They initially intended to toss him to the curb, but she caves when he says he will do anything to stay. Something tells me that one should reconsider mistreating a former “dapper gangland kingpin” (Penguin’s late father’s words), lest he relapse.

The second clip features Jim Gordon, who is currently presumed dead and trying to clear his name. Being the true hero he is, Gordon prevents a mugging from occurring, but it comes at a high price: a nearby police officer sees his face and radios that Jim is, in fact, still alive. It just goes to show that there’s never an easy day in Gotham.

Finally, we join Nathaniel Barnes shortly after he learns Gordon is breathing free air. Being the sharp tack he is, Barnes confronts Harvey Bullock, whom he has a strong feeling knows Gordon’s whereabouts. Bullock, of course, denies any knowledge or involvement. Whether or not the people of Gotham will one day eat his socks remains to be seen.

As an added bonus, we present to you a new promo video that foreshadows what’s to come for the remainder of this season. Despite Bruce Wayne recently learning that Matches Malone pulled the trigger on his parents, we have still yet to learn who hired him and why. This collection of snippets are evidence that we are in for one wild ride this spring.

For more information, check out the official synopsis below:

In an attempt to clear his name, Gordon steals his case file and approaches Nygma for help. Meanwhile, Penguin discovers his step-family’s role in his father’s death, and awakens from his conditioning.

Gotham airs Mondays at 8:00 pm EST on Fox.
