Deadline is reporting Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Ex Machina actor Domhnall Gleeson has opened talks to join Goodbye Christopher Robin, a biopic revolving around one AA Milne, best known as the creator of cultural icon, Winnie the Pooh.

Steering the project toward a production start is director Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn), and the outlet notes that the real-life biopic has been pitched in the style of a family drama, casting light on the often troubled relationship between Milne and his son, Robin. Eventually, their intimate connection would go on to inspire some of the creator’s best work, most notably Christopher Robin along with Winnie the Pooh himself, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet.

British producer Damian Jones is producing Goodbye Christopher Robin opposite Steve Christian, the former of which coming off the back of Dad’s Army and The Lady in the Van. As for Gleeson, other projects lining the Irishman’s bustling slate include Netflix’s National Lampoon origins movie A Futile And Stupid Gesture, The Little Stranger and the Tom Cruise-fronted narcotics thriller, Mena.

Fox Searchlight is the studio circling Goodbye Christopher Robin, where, as Deadline points out, Jones holds a first-look production pact. Beyond the potential addition of Domhnall Gleeson, the biopic is still very much in the early stages, though we’ll keep you updated as more information comes to light.
