For in Nine Lives, Barry Sonnenfeld’s (Men in Black) heartfelt feline comedy, Spacey will be playing well-to-do businessman Tom Brand, whose success is matched only by his insatiable desire to climb the ladder even further. Career-driven down to his very core, Brand finds himself caught between work and family life, though one chance meeting with a mystical pet store and its eccentric owner, Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken) changes all that.

Upon waking up from a terrible accident, Spacey inexplicably finds himself trapped in the body of a cat. Taken in by his own wife and daughter, Nine Lives lends our protagonist the chance to see family life from a whole new perspective which, cliché though that may be, has our attention purely for Spacey’s sassy feline. Jennifer Garner, Malina Weissman, Cheryl Hines, Christopher Walken and Robbie Amell complete the cast.

It’s Kevin Spacey – but as you’ve never seen him before. Mr. Fuzzypants will spring onto the silver screen when Nine Lives releases on August 5, 2016. It’ll open against some pretty hefty competition in the form of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.

Nine-Lives-3

Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has disconnected him from his family, particularly his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and his adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman).

Rebecca’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants.
