Almost a year since Ubisoft officially premiered the medieval hack-and-slash title, we now have word that the publisher has major plans to spotlight For Honor during E3 2016.

That’s according to Community Developer Eric Pope, who teased that “a ton of new information” will be rolled out across both E3 in June and Gamescom in August, with a firm release date surely on the cards. At least the time being, all we know for sure is that For Honor is expected to launch before April 2017, a release window it shares with Watch Dogs 2Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Obsidian’s cheeky sequel, South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

Pitched as more of a “core” game than some of Ubisoft’s tentpole franchises, For Honor is a multiplayer-centric title that thrusts players into the throes of a medieval war between knights (The Legion), samurai (The Chosen) and Vikings (The Warborn).

Allowing users to get down and dirty with melee combat, Creative Director Jason Vandenberghe has likened the new IP to a “shooter with swords,” and the multiplayer modes included in the final release – including one stylized after Domination – will reflect that creative approach.

For Honor is in the works for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Thanks to today’s enticing tease, look for that “ton of new information” to drop across E3 and Gamescom 2016.
