Cyclops Unleashes An Optic Blast In Cool New Image From X-Men: Apocalypse

With Captain America: Civil War right around the corner, it's easy to forget that X-Men: Apocalypse isn't too far behind. With Bryan Singer bringing in one of the team's most iconic villains and dialling up the action to 11, this movie could very well be the comic book adaptation which steals the show this year.

With Captain America: Civil War right around the corner, it’s easy to forget that X-Men: Apocalypse isn’t too far behind. Given that Bryan Singer is preparing to bring in one of the team’s most iconic villains and dial up the action to 11, this movie could very well be the comic book adaptation which steals the show this year.

To remind us all that it’s on the way, Fox has today released a brand new official image which features Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) letting loose with an optic blast as Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) utilizes her psychic powers to seemingly help him focus.

This actually makes a lot of sense, especially as the trailers have pointed to Scott Summers not having a very good grasp on his abilities when we first meet him in X-Men: Apocalypse.

In other X-Men: Apocalypse news, the new trailer has been classified and is confirmed to run at 2m 33s. This is likely the same one which was shown at CinemaCon last week, and if recent rumours are to be believed, it will include a surprise appearance from a certain member of the X-Men. There’s currently no word on when it will be released online, but expect to see it fairly soon.
