Kelsey Asbille has plot course for Wind River, Taylor Sheridan’s starry crime thriller that is currently shooting in Utah.

Deadline has the scoop, revealing that the Teen Wolf star joins an ensemble that already includes Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen in leading roles, flanked by The Walking Dead and Daredevil fan-favorite Jon Bernthal, Graham Greene, Julia Jones and Gil Birmingham.

Sheridan, meanwhile, takes point for his directorial debut after serving as screenwriter on Denis Villeneuve’s intense narcotics thriller, Sicario. Wind River represents a different kettle of fish, though maintains those core, thriller tenets.

Essentially, Sheridan’s feature places Olsen in the role of a rookie FBI agent who, after stumbling upon the death of a young girl, seeks help from a burned out veteran game tracker (Renner), who harbors a haunted past of his own that remains largely under wraps for the time being.

Together, the unlikely duo then set about finding and apprehending the killer, and we’re excited to see how the remainder of the cast fit into that criminal investigation. That said, Deadline notes today’s newcomer is attached to play Natalie, an “intelligent, independent woman, who is at the center of the murder.” Can Asiblle’s character blow the case wide open? We’ll find out soon enough.

Filming continues apace on the Utah set of Wind River, with the thriller likely to make a theatrical bow towards the end of 2016. Wild Bunch and Voltage are selling Sheridan’s feature internationally.
