Currently simmering in the dark bowels of development, all we know in terms of story is that Outlast 2 will take players beyond the decrepit walls of Mount Massive asylum, opening up a whole new can of worms in the process. It’s currently slated for a fall release across PS4, Xbox One and PC, when the horror follow-up will debut simultaneously across each platform.

As such, don’t expect too many details to seep out regarding Outlast 2 until E3 in June and even at that, Red Barrels will likely ensure the narrative twists and turns – not to mention those jump scares – remain in the shadows until such a time when the studio is ready to unleash its unspeakable horror. But will the sequel serve up another menacing and mutated villain in the vein of doctor Richard Trager? Time will tell.

Outlast 2 is expected to launch across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC – unleashing all kinds of nightmares in the process – sometime this fall.
