NYC-based DJ/producer Gryffin found himself on the radar of the electronic music community at the beginning of 2016, but the Heading Home tour seems to have thrown him off his course to a minor degree. The tour wraps up tonight, April 27th – but he’s already gotten a head start on new releases with his remix of CHVRCHES’ “Clearest Blue.”

Where the original version’s serene synth melody and crisp vocals made it a bit difficult to categorize, Gryffin’s remix features reverberant bass lines that make it fit neatly into the future house category. Be that as it may, the iconic vocal still takes center stage, and a sample of a guitar riff gives the whole of the arrangement an added measure of depth.

Overall, it’s a solid effort from the young producer, but we’d really like to see Gryffin release another original track like that of his current tour’s namesake. Hopefully now that he has more time on his hands, he’ll be able to deliver sometime in the coming months.
