A return to dance music’s roots seems to be taking hold in Melbourne as of late. Alongside artists like Throttle bringing the spotlight back on disco in 2016, Melbourne-based DJ/producer Generik has captured the essence of classic house in his latest release, “Late At Night.”
Built on a back-and-forth between a danceable rave piano melody and soulful vocals, “Late At Night” is sure to set a feel-good tone anywhere it gets cued up. The sound design elements could stand to be a little more crisp, but chances are strong that when the dance floor’s moving to this track that’s the last thing you’ll notice.
Generik mentioned “Late At Night” when we met up with him in Miami – during which time he also revealed that he has a collaboration with A*M*E* coming out in the near future. There’s no release date for it just yet, but as soon as we have it we’ll be sure to share it with you.
