While The Joker will undoubtedly be the most exciting part of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, another character that looks to be a definite highlight is Harley Quinn, who’s being brought to life by the beautiful Margot Robbie. Over the past several months, the actress’ portrayal of the iconic character has been receiving a lot of attention, and in a recent interview, she spoke about why so many people seem to love Harley.

According to Robbie, Quinn is “weirdly endearing” because she finds “joy in causing mayhem.”

“She’s just a psychopath who runs around gleefully killing people—she finds joy in causing mayhem, which makes her weirdly endearing and fun to watch,” said Robbie.

The Wolf of Wall Street star wasn’t the only one to talk about the role though, as director David Ayer also chimed in, praising Robbie’s work in the film.

“The role requires a lot of heavy lifting for an actor. But she’s a tough girl, and she’s incredibly smart and mature beyond her years. She has ridiculous depth, and she’s never been coddled, so she’s very physically courageous. The things she was doing herself as far as stunts, you wouldn’t believe. There’s only a handful of actors who do that sort of work themselves.”

Again, The Joker may be what people are looking forward to most in Suicide Squad, but don’t count Harley out just yet. Robbie looks to have done some fantastic work with the character and it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see her steal the show from Leto. Either way, seeing these two iconic DC villains interact on screen is going to be a real treat, especially as they’re being brought to life by two extremely talented people.
