Dutch EDM duo W&W premiered their festival mix of “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” over the weekend, upping the pace of the song and taking it into high energy main stage material. Mike Posner’s ode to excess became an EDM anthem last summer when it received a chilled out remix from Seeb, and now, W&W have flipped that iconic mix into something more suitable for the festival crowds.
The original Seeb remix featured a rather mellow vibe, but the new festival version increases the tempo and takes it to new energetic heights. The liquid-y vocal chops and slow riding beat are dropped in favor of pounding house kicks and jubilant synth chords while the familiar melody is transposed on a massive big room lead.
The video clip that accompanies the festival mix exhibits all of the EDM trappings referenced in Posner’s lyrics, edited together into a slick promotional video featuring shots of gorgeous beaches, stacked crowds and W&W‘s explosive DJ sets.
