The Wolverine 3 has been making a lot of very interesting casting additions lately, but no details have been revealed about who the various actors will be playing, something which leaves us completely in the dark about what to expect from the James Mangold helmed release when it reaches theaters next year.

However, a new report may shed at least some light on what we should expect when Old Man Logan teams up with Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. According to Nerdist, The Wolverine 3 is going to feature the clawed mutant squaring off with the Reavers, a group of cyborgs (including the likes of Lady Deathstrike and Skullbuster) best known for their criminal activity and hatred of mutants.

Donald Pierce is their leader, and while the site doesn’t confirm whether or not he’ll show up in The Wolverine 3, chances are that he’s the character being played by either Boyd Holbrook or Richard E. Grant. It’s also mentioned that there’s a chance “Liev Schreiber might be returning as Sabretooth,” which is definitely exciting to hear.

While there’s still a lot unknown about the upcoming threequel, one thing that’s clear is the fact that this movie isn’t going to be a faithful adaptation of the Old Man Logan storyline, something which isn’t too surprising when you take into account Fox’s track record with adapting comic book arcs for the big screen.

With The Wolverine 3 currently shooting in New Orleans, we’ll hopefully find out more about the film in the near future. Until we do, though, let us know what you think about The Reavers showing up by dropping a comment below.
