Following in the tire tracks of Universal’s barnstorming Fast and Furious franchise – and, specifically, F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8 – Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight has entered production in Cuba, becoming only the second North America movie to do so in light of improved political relations between the island nation and the US of A.
To celebrate the landmark and the fact that the cameras are now rolling on The Last Knight, director Michael Bay took to Instagram to post the first photo from set, teasing a possible Transformer in disguise.

No further details were offered up at the time of writing, only that Bay looks set to keep up tradition and ensure the latest entry in the lucrative Transformers series is a globetrotting affair.
Despite initially expressing apprehension about returning at the helm, the filmmaker has started to round out a core ensemble for The Last Knight, itself part of a reinvigorated drive at Paramount to steer the franchise in a new direction.
As such, Mark Wahlberg is set to reprise his role from Age of Extinction, teeing up a screen partnership between Cade Yeager and Lt. William Lennox, after Josh Duhamel closed a deal to return to the Transformers series only last week. Elsewhere, Nickelodeon starlet Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael have secured roles.
Transformers: The Last Knight is pegged to land on June 17, 2017, followed in quick succession by Transformers 6 – rumored to be a Bumblebee spinoff – on June 8, 2018, before another installment arrives in time for June 28, 2019.
