Amazon Studios has today nailed down plans for a fourth season of critically-adorned family drama Transparent, ensuring the Pfefferman family will return to the Prime streaming service in 2017.

Word of the renewal arrives by way of The Hollywood Reporter, confirming that series creator Jill Soloway will remain attached at the helm of the beloved original series, and in an official statement, Soloway teased that the Pfeffermans “have many more stories to tell and we can’t wait to keep making them.”

At the forefront of that familial drama will be Jeffrey Tambor, flanked by the returning faces of Judith Light, Gaby Hoffman, Amy Landecker and Jay Duplass. In light of the renewal, Amazon head honcho Joe Lewis stated that:

“As the quality of television rises to new heights, Transparent continues to stand out for its depth of character, compassionate storytelling and its infinite creative risk-taking. We’re grateful that customers have responded so enthusiastically to the Pfefferman family and we’re excited to bring them another chapter of their story.”

Bagging two Golden Globe awards – including one for Jeffrey Tambor, lauded for his nuanced turn as Maura Pfefferman – among scores of other accolades, Transparent has quickly established itself as one of the progressive cornerstones of Amazon’s streaming catalog. Long may that continue.

Transparent has booked its slot for the 2016-2017 TV season, and you can look forward to the Pfeffermans returning to Amazon Prime at some point next year.
