Konami To Shut Down PES 2015 Servers In August

The multiplayer servers for Konami's PES 2015 will be closing down come August 25, the publisher has announced on their website. Konami hasn't given a reason as to why the 2015 iteration of the popular soccer series is losing online support come in the Fall, but we would assume that it's to make way for this year's PES 2017, due to be released later this year. PES 2016's servers will remain unchanged.

The multiplayer servers for Konami’s PES 2015 will be closing down come August 25, the publisher has announced on their website. Konami hasn’t given a reason as to why the 2015 iteration of the popular soccer series is losing online support come in the Fall, but we would assume that it’s to make way for this year’s PES 2017, due to be released later this year. PES 2016’s servers will remain unchanged.

The statement reads:

The online service for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 will be terminated on 25/08/2016 4:00 (UTC). We would like to thank you for your loyal support.

Please note that all of your myClub coins or GP within the game will be invalidated at the same time as the termination of Online service. If you still have left myClub coins or GP, please spend them until the termination of Online service.

We would also like to thank you for your continued support of the PES series titles.

As is the case every year, the PES series will be competing with EA’s own FIFA franchise for the title of best football game of 2016. In recent years, the unofficial award has arguably been snapped-up by the latter, but last year’s PES 2016 saw a return to form for Konami’s offering and we were rather impressed when we reviewed it.
