One of the biggest criticisms aimed at Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was that it simply wasn’t “fun.” Regardless of whether or not you agree with that sentiment, it’s clear that Warner Bros. doesn’t want the same sort of complaints to be levelled at Suicide Squad, hence why humour is the name of the game in these two new TV spots.
In them, we see a very humorous exchange between Rick Flag and Deadshot along with The Joker having a good laugh at one of his henchman. It’s fair to say that Jared Leto looks very comfortable in this role as the Clown Prince of Crime, and all signs are pointing to the Oscar winning actor being the highlight of Suicide Squad.
[zergpaid]The use of humour here is particularly interesting, especially as widely denied rumours have been doing the rounds that reshoots took place to add more “fun” to the dark and gritty movie. So far, Suicide Squad certainly does look a lot more light-hearted than the last DC Films Universe movie, but we’ll have to wait until the film hits theatres to see just how much humor there really is.
Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis, Ben Affleck and a number of others, Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th.
