Resident Evil VII: Biohazard Pegged For January 2017, Play The Demo Tonight

Capcom is resurrecting its horror classic in a major way. During Sony's E3 press event this evening, the publisher revealed that Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will launch on January 24, 2017. If you dare, the entire experience can be played via PlayStation VR from beginning to end, while there's also an early demo available to play this evening.

Capcom is resurrecting its dormant horror classic in a major way. During Sony’s E3 press event this evening, the publisher revealed that Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will launch on January 24, 2017.

If you dare, the entire experience can be played via PlayStation VR from beginning to end, while there’s also an early demo available to play this evening.

Initially, Sony had rolled out an eerie trailer for Biohazard before listing said snippet as private on YouTube. Staying true to Capcom’s promise of returning to the franchise’s putrid roots, the clip in question largely played out from a first-person perspective, as the lead character was overcome by crippling hallucinations of unspeakable horrors. Exactly what one would expect from a Resident Evil title, then. We’ll update this post if and when it becomes available.
