You wait for Spider-Man: Homecoming casting and suddenly, three nuggets of news arrive one after the other. Just yesterday, we brought you the news that Donald Glover was on the verge of sealing a deal, while director Jon Watts recently took to Twitter to debunk a popular fan theory concerning Michael Barbieri’s character before it spun out of control.

Now, the latest tidbit to surface arrives by way of The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) has opened talks to clinch a villainous role opposite Michael Keaton. There’s also word that Silicon Valley star Martin Starr has boarded the reboot, via Deadline.

Yes, if Tom Holland’s budding webslinger had has hands full before with Keaton’s big bad (The Vulture?) then the addition of Marshall-Green ought to ramp up the spectacle. No further details were disclosed at the time of writing, and it’s unclear whether the newcomer is set to portray a henchman or, more intriguingly, assume the part of one of Spidey’s iconic villains.

On the other end of the moral spectrum, Holland headlines the standalone feature as Peter Parker, flanked by the fresh faces of Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier as high school friends, along with Marissa Tomei, Zendaya, Robert Downey Jr., Captain America: The First Avenger star Kenneth Choi and, after much back and forth, Michael Keaton as the chief antagonist.

Jon Watts’ starry ensemble is all but complete, and Marvelites can expect Spider-Man: Homecoming to swing into theaters in time for July 7, 2017.
