First Official Look At Martin Freeman In Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit

EW has debuted the first look at Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, the upcoming film from Peter Jackson. Jackson has been kind to fans thus far, offering frequent updates through his Facebook page, keeping us up to date with what's going on. Anticipation is extremely high for the film but honestly, I already know it's going to be absolutely epic, I don't need pictures and frequent updates to sway my decision. How can the film turn out poorly?

EW has debuted the first look at Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, the upcoming film from Peter Jackson. Jackson has been kind to fans thus far, offering frequent updates through his Facebook page, keeping us up to date with what’s going on. Anticipation is extremely high for the film but honestly, I already know it’s going to be absolutely epic, I don’t need pictures and frequent updates to sway my decision. How can the film turn out poorly?

This is essentially the same deal as Lord of the Rings. Same setting, same director, some of the same sets, a few cast members are the same etc. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, The Hobbit will be on par if not better than Lord of the Rings. This won’t be a bad movie, I can guarantee it.

While I’m usually not a fan of fantasy or anything involving elves, orcs and wizards, I did enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I think most people did, it’s hard not to. They were exceptionally well made films and they’re thoroughly enjoyable. I have read The Hobbit and while I feel that the Lord of the Rings trilogy makes for a better story, The Hobbit was still a great book and I’m definitely eager to see the film.

I was skeptical at first when Guillermo del Toro was going to be involved but once they announced that Peter Jackson would be returning to Middle Earth, my worries were put to rest. The man knows what he’s doing and they don’t need to convince me with photos, videos from the set or anything else. I’ll be there on day one to see it, guaranteed.
