The first of three new DLC packs for Fallout 4 announced during E3 is due to release today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Contraptions, a bite-sized piece of add-on content following the humongous Far Harbor expansion, brings with it a host of new machinery and quality-of-life devices for the player to build and customize their settlements with.
Elevators, scaffolding kits and armor racks are just some of the new so-called contraptions you’ll have access to upon downloading the content for $4.99. The description on Bethesda’s website reads:
Machines that sort! Machines that build! Machines that combine! With Fallout 4 Contraptions, use conveyer belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, even logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve your Wasteland settlements. The Contraptions Workshop also includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks and more!
Two more pieces of DLC are due to release for Fallout 4 in the coming months. July will see the similarly-priced Vault-Tec Workshop add-on launch (which enables players to build their own Vaults), followed by Nuka-World in August which, if the price is anything to go by ($19.99) will be just as ambitious as Far Harbor.
