Over the weekend at Electric Forest, Robinson seemed to finally answer this call, unveiling a live edit of “Shepherdess,” an exclusive from the Worlds vinyl release, while premiering something entirely new. The new ID sounds like a continuation of the style developed on Worlds, with rapid 8-bit arppegios, dreamy melodies and massive percussion.

It’s unknown when or where the ID will surface, but Porter Robinson fans definitely have something to look forward to. The producer took to Twitter earlier in the year to reveal that he was moving past some writer’s block, and the presence of new material in his set bodes well that the wait for new music may be coming to a close.
