We’ve already seen numerous set photos from Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, but these appear to be the first ones that feature star Tom Holland in full costume as the titular hero. They come to us courtesy of Looper and Brian Rubin and while we don’t know the exact context of the scene being filmed, it’s clear that it’s of the action variety.
From Looper’s report, we know that whatever’s going on here, it involves Spidey “running alongside a cement truck and jumping onto it.” Some of the scene will involve CGI, but apparently the actual jumping onto the truck part was done by Holland himself, not a stunt double.
As Looper also points out, given that Peter still has his backpack on in the scene, it’s likely that he had to run out of school for this one. Perhaps he was on some kind of field trip when he sprung into action? Or maybe he was just on his way home from a long day of class when he spotted danger? At this stage, we really don’t know.
Even without the exact context of the scene being clear, it’s great to see Tom Holland back in costume as Spider-Man. The last few batches of set photos were pretty underwhelming and we’ve been waiting to see something a bit more exciting. Now we just need a look at some of those villains we’ve been hearing so much about….
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres on July 7th, 2017. Take a look at the set photos in the gallery above and tell us what you think’s going on by dropping a comment down below.
