Just in time for the big long weekend, PopCap Vancouver has announced that it’s added even more free content to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, in the form of Trouble in Zombopolis: Part 2.

This second part of the Trouble in Zombopolis update brings with it two new features, in the form of community challenges and delivery missions. It’s the former one that players should be most excited about, though, because — as a fan requested addition — it looks to add the most to the game.

Community challenges reward all players for working together to complete a goal. We all know that. However, what’s nice about these is that progress is shown in real-time, via a Progress-o-Metre that sits out front of Town Hall. It goes up with every triumph, then explodes in celebration whenever a goal has been achieved, sending confetti everywhere. The real draw, though, are the chests at its base, which unlock after every goal plateau’s celebration.

If you’re in the mood for some faster-paced action, then Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2‘s new delivery missions may be for you. They task players with using one of two new characters (a chompy with a jetpack and a goat who makes deliveries), to race through checkpoints and deliver a package within a given time limit. Sure, it’s pretty standard stuff, but it looks like fun.

This latest, free-to-download update is currently available for all Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 players. That’s a great thing, too, because it means there’s no additional waiting time to endure, outside of sitting idly by as the file downloads to your console of choice.
