Aphex Twin‘s new EP Cheetah is due out later this week, but fans can now stream the full release before it drops. A number of cuts from the EP have already surfaced on the internet, and the full collection could be heard at Warp Records booth at NAMM. Now, though, thanks to Tom Robinson, you can check out the whole thing on his BBC Radio 6 show.
Cheetah is a foray into Aphex Twin’s love of analog gear, and the EP takes its name from the Cheetah MS800 synthesizer, which was used to create the signature sound heard on the collection of songs. Most of the cuts feature an old school sound, with simple drum machine beats, squlechy basslines and warped, ambient synths.
You can listen to all seven tracks off Aphex Twin‘s latest effort here, starting around the one hour mark. Cheetah will be released in full on July 8 and can be pre-ordered here if you’re interested.
