Arrow stalwart Stephen Amell has clarified his comments regarding the Flashpoint arc set to feature in the upcoming third season of The Flash, admitting that he isn’t sure if it’ll have much of a bearing on The CW’s adjacent superhero show – if at all.
Initially, Amell stated that Flashpoint would have a major impact on the fifth season of Arrow – set to arrive in October of this year – leading fans to speculate about what lies in store for one Oliver Queen. How and ever, it appears Amell’s comments were taken out of context.
During this weekend’s Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey, Amell stated, “actually I sarcastically said ‘sure’…And then I seriously said, ‘I have no idea whatsoever’… but let’s go with confirm, I guess.”
It’s by no means an official confirmation, but the fact that Amell refuses to rule out the possibility that Flashpoint could impact Arrow season 5 leads us to believe that Barry Allen’s temporal tinkering will send ripples across DC’s small-screen universe.
Arrow season 5 is pegged for a premiere in October. Tell us, what do you make of these Flashpoint rumors? Do you believe Amell’s statement is a red herring? Sound off below with your thoughts.
