In a series of Tweets today, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris confirmed an unlikely conspiracy theory regarding the creation of his recent hit single with Rihanna, "This Is What You Came For." The rumor mill had churned out a theory a couple weeks back that Harris' now ex-girlfriend and fellow musician Taylor Swift had a behind the scenes role in writing the song, and the producer finally spilled the beans on his official Twitter account.

In a series of Tweets today, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris confirmed an unlikely conspiracy theory regarding the creation of his recent hit single with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For.” The rumor mill had churned out a theory a couple weeks back that Harris’ now ex-girlfriend and fellow musician Taylor Swift had a behind the scenes role in writing the song, and the producer finally spilled the beans on his official Twitter account.

Not only did Swift contribute lyrics to “This Is What You Came For,” but she indeed recorded a vocal part on the track as well. Harris states that she wished for her contributions to remain anonymous, and chose to be credited under the pen name Nils Sjöberg.

We’re not sure why Taylor Swift chose to work on the song incognito, though it’s possible it had something to do with her faltering relationship with Calvin Harris. At any rate, it’s an interesting look into the song’s development, and just goes to show that sometimes even the craziest theories turn out to be true.
