Earlier in the week, reports began to surface that Canadian DJ duo DVBBS had been arrested at Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest on drug related charges after two women were found unconscious in their dressing room after their performance at Balaton Sound. The women were in attendance during DVBBS’ set and were invited to hang out backstage with the group. They were then found passed out after the duo had already left the venue for a flight.

Both members of DVBBS as well as an additional friend failed on the spot drug tests at the airport and were charged with narcotics possession, though they were later released. The women, meanwhile, were taken to the hospital but no medical treatment was required, and police have released a statement that there was no sign of sexual abuse.

Following the controversy, Hungarian festival Sziget has dropped DVBBS from the lineup, where the duo was scheduled to perform in August. It’s unclear at this time what exactly happened backstage after the show, but it’s clear that some promoters are starting to get cold feet about having the DJs perform at their festivals. Whether any other fests drop the boys from their lineup remains to be seen, but as of now, it’s not looking good.
