Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Featured On EW’s Free Comic-Con Special Issue

Pretty much everyone was shocked when The Dark Tower ended up on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con issue, especially as that's a space normally reserved for a major upcoming superhero movie. However, Wonder Woman is going to take centre stage on their free Comic-Con special, though the cover unfortunately uses some familiar imagery.

Pretty much everyone was shocked when The Dark Tower ended up on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con issue, especially as that’s a space normally reserved for a major upcoming superhero movie. However, Wonder Woman is going to take centre stage on their free Comic-Con special, though the cover unfortunately uses some familiar imagery.

The Amazonian warrior will be part of Warner Bros.’ Hall H panel this weekend, but it remains to be seen whether or not the studio has any DC Films surprises planned for upcoming releases outside of Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. A Justice League group shot is a definite possibility, but far from a guarantee at this stage.

“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior,” a recently released synopsis teased. “Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis. Directed by Patty Jenkins, principal photography has taken place on location in the UK, France and Italy, and it’s set to be released in 2017.
