Originally released for Nintendo Wii in 2009, it was a surprise success for the now defunct Cing and was well received by both critics and consumers. What made Cing’s RTS stick out from the crowd was how it married life simulation elements with the strategic gameplay that the genre is known for.

Players will control King Corobo, who will have to use his charming personality in order to succeed as a leader. This new port of the game will also add new features to the beloved adventure, like remastered high-def visuals, controller support, and the ability to work with the whole suite of Steam features. This means that you’ll be able to unlock achievements and collect trading cards that they can use as virtual bragging rights.

XSEED is also offering an incentive for players to pick up Little King’s Story early on as the game will have a 10% discount in its first week. That equates to $2.49 in savings for any aspiring monarch. It might not be much, but every dollar counts when it comes to PC gaming.

It’s always great to see a publisher giving a series another chance, especially after Cing’s unfortunate demise in 2010. Now, more people than ever before will be able to play Little King’s Story, and it’ll also be easily available on PC, which is great for those worried about archiving gaming’s history.
