PC Patch For Batman: The Telltale Series Targets Resolution Problems And Crashing

Targeting resolution dips and framerate jitters, the first PC patch for Batman: The Telltale Series is now available.

In an official blog post, Telltale revealed that many of those issues affecting Realm of Shadows, the series’ pilot, can be traced back to integrated graphics cards. The developer then thanked the community for raising awareness in the first place.

“Investigations indicate that many of these issues appear to have been due to running the game on integrated graphics cards rather than dedicated. Or [they] were the result of out of date drivers. Special thanks to those in the community who have already helped others resolve these issues before a patch could go live.”

Steam users took particular issue with the framerate woes, with many reporting that even when running on a fairly capable gaming rig, Realm of Shadows on PC struggled to maintain anything above 15 frames-per-second. Not good, then, but the patch notes below confirm that Telltale has all but rectified the technical niggles.

• Automatically defaults the game to run on dedicated graphics card.
• Adds graphics settings to enable selection of Higher Performance Textures or Higher Quality Textures (please select Higher Performance if performance is an issue).

Batman: The Telltale Series made its debut earlier this week with Realm of Shadows, and our own review found the pilot to be a “tantalizing taste of the new paths this series might forge for its legendary comic book hero.”
