This is just a rumor for the time being, but the source has been known to be spot on with their Marvel-related scoops in the past, so it’s definitely worth paying attention to. According to That Hashtag Show, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could tie into Thor: Ragnarok in a very interesting way.

Apparently, The God of Thunder and his travelling partner, The Hulk, will encounter an alien race known as The Cotati during the interplanetary adventures in Marvel’s Thor threequel. In the comics, these guys are directly responsible for awakening the powers within Mantis, who is set to make her big-screen debut in James Gunn’s Guardians sequel as played by Pom Klementieff.

The Cotati are a stationary, plant-like species in the comics, but That Hashtag Show reckons they will actually be made to look more like the Mantis character in the movie. They’re not sure whether we’ll actually see Klementieff reprise the role in Thor: Ragnarok, but if all of this is on the level, it’s definitely a good possibility.

Hopefully we’ll be able to glean a few more details from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is set to hit theaters next May.
